The event, themed “Driving Alternative Payment Channels as Tools for Financial Inclusion, Growth and Accelerated Economic Development,” was designed to sensitize the public on the bank’s policies for sustainable economic growth. It brought together a diverse group of attendees, including market traders, entrepreneurs, policymakers, and students.
According to a statement from the CBN, the bank’s Acting Director of Corporate Communications, Mrs. Hakama Sidi Ali, explained that the fair aimed to foster dialogue with the public on how the bank’s policies can improve their lives and livelihoods. She highlighted that the theme was chosen to address the importance of value addition and its role in helping small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) achieve price stability.
Mrs. Sidi Ali emphasized that the CBN, under Governor Yemi Cardoso, is committed to stimulating productivity and financial inclusion. She listed several policies implemented over the past 22 months to strengthen the financial system, attract foreign investment, and boost financial inclusion rates.
