Youssouf Adamou, a 24-year-old Cameroonian footballer currently playing for Batıkent Sports Club in Türkiye’s 1st Amateur League, has attracted widespread attention for his striking resemblance to Nigerian international striker Victor Osimhen.

Having lived in Türkiye for eight years and recently completing a degree in Business Administration at Anadolu University, Adamou’s likeness to Osimhen extends beyond mere looks. “They compare me a lot to Osimhen,” he shared with Kocatepe Gazetesi. “Our styles are somewhat similar; I play like him, but he’s a better scorer. I’m good at building plays from the back.”

Adamou’s careful styling — including mirroring Osimhen’s hair and wearing a mask of the star striker gifted by friends at public events — fuels the comparisons. “I get so much attention that I had to wear a hat on the tram,” he said. “Kids stop me all the time saying, ‘Osi brother, let’s take a picture.’ I tell them my name is Youssouf, but they still say I’m Osimhen.”

While widely hailed as Osimhen’s “twin,” Adamou remains focused on forging his own path in football. Describing himself as “the Osimhen of the midfield,” he emphasises his playmaking role rather than goal-scoring prowess. “I’m at the beginning of my career, still playing amateur football. I want to secure citizenship and prove myself in higher leagues because I’m too good for the amateurs,” he stated confidently.
