The All Progressives Congress (APC) has strongly criticized the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governors for rejecting the outcomes of the August 16 bye-elections held across 12 Nigerian states. APC spokesperson Felix Morka accused the PDP governors of “wallowing in denial of their expired political vitality” amid persistent internal crises.

Morka said, “The PDP has fallen into ruins and been rejected by Nigerians. Instead of focusing on reviving their terminally ailing party, they waste time leveling baseless allegations against our great party.” He described the opposition as “a party in deep comatose,” struggling to reconcile its internal challenges.

Highlighting the APC’s dominant victories in key states such as Zamfara, Adamawa, and Kano, the party credited these wins to President Bola Tinubu’s “Renewed Hope” policies and the administration’s commitment to national development. “These victories attest loudly to the level that President Tinubu’s policies are resonating with Nigerians,” Morka added.

The APC also charged PDP governors with hypocrisy, accusing them of celebrating democracy only in their strongholds while condemning it where they lose. “Electoral credibility cannot be judged solely by the fortunes of a single party,” he stated.

Despite unprecedented federal allocations to states over ₦2 trillion by July 2025—the APC claimed that PDP-led states have failed to translate the funds into meaningful improvements for their citizens. The party warned against any return to the “dark era” of previous PDP governance marked by bankrupt states and unpaid wages.

Urging Nigerians to remain focused on the APC’s agenda, the party reaffirmed its commitment to delivering “wholesome development and shared prosperity” nationwide ahead of the 2027 general elections.
