A fighter from the Lebanese armed group Hezbollah has killed an Israeli soldier after striking a military vehicle in northern Israel, according to initial reports, in the latest escalation along the volatile border.
The attack comes amid intensifying cross-border hostilities, with Hezbollah stepping up near-daily strikes and Israel responding with expanded military operations in Lebanon. 
Tensions have surged in recent weeks as both sides exchange fire, raising fears of a wider regional conflict.
