A decades-old jurisdictional dispute over Ette Community has been settled by the National Boundary Commission (NBC), which has officially placed it within Kogi State.
The NBC issued a directive ordering the Enugu State Government to immediately suspend all planned activities in the area, including a chieftaincy coronation scheduled for the end of December. Furthermore, the commission instructed the Kogi State Government to assume full responsibility for the security and administration of the community.
This ruling has been accepted by local Enugu officials, who have pledged to adhere to the federal commission’s decision, bringing a peaceful close to the longstanding disagreement.
