In a statement signed Monday by junta leader Assimi Goita, the Burkinabe government said the aircraft identified as belonging to the Nigerian Air Force was forced to land in Bobo-Dioulasso following an “emergency situation in flight” while operating in Burkina Faso’s airspace.
The statement did not provide further details.
