Benue State Government has commence legal action to reclaimed its equity 10% shares solicitors already filled the reclaimed before security and investment Tribunal.
Through the Managing Director of Benue Investment and Property Company BIPC limited has commence fresh legal action to reclaimed our stake in shares holdings against Dangote Cement plant before the security and investment Tribunal with immediate effect.
The BIPC boss Dr Rayment Asemakaha,speaking to journalists on Friday recalled that in 2006 during the erstwhile people’s Democratic Party regime the same tribunal Dangote Industries sought amicable resolutions of 65.8 billion accumulated shares belonging to the state where the 1st respondent pleaded for out of court settlement.
While further briefing pressmen during press conference in Makurdi capital City announced that already the company,s solicitors have been directed to proceed with the matter and filed reclaimed at the Tribunal.
Dr Asemakaha insisted in 2006 when the Dangote Industries brought the lion shares it was agreed the logo of Benue Cement Company Limited be maintained, consequently it was reneged and change without further recourse to anybody.
” Besides these both parties agreed that the state including 10 % equity Shares holdings as well as the position of Deputy Managing director, and director two key management positions in company as allotment in the company as contained in the agreement reached. ” also demands policies to promote local enterprineauship,particularly in Cement distribution in ancillary services and Transportation to be divided accordingly.
Maintaining the agreement reached was fraught on the part of Dangote Cement plant plc stressing the negotiations were disobey by the 1st party.
He averred that the stakes has accumulated over the years resulting to 65.8 billion imploring all available means through litigation must be retrieved to retained what belong were not going to rest on our oars unless the shares would be recovered.
According to him some Commissioners and other prominent citizens in 2006 collected gratification from Dangote Industries emphasising an ultimatum is given to the affected persons within seven days to exonerate themselves or face the wrath of Law.
The BIPC boss further stressed that those who Connived to defraud the state efforts must be geared towards ensuring justice prevail in the case: insting we can not allow few individuals fade fat at the detriment of others thereby retarding development.
