At least seven residents of a Kano community have been rescued by Nigerian Army troops following an overnight attack carried out by suspected bandits, according to local reports.
The incident, first reported by Politics Nigeria, said armed men stormed the community, prompting distress calls that drew a rapid military response. Troops deployed to the area engaged the attackers and safely evacuated seven civilians caught in the assault.
Military officials have not yet released additional details on casualties, arrests, or the identity of the attackers. However, residents said the swift intervention helped prevent what could have been a more deadly outcome.
Attacks by armed groups remain a persistent security challenge across parts of northern Nigeria, where communities have faced kidnappings, raids, and other forms of violence in recent years. The military has increased patrols and launched several operations aimed at curbing the activities of such groups.
Local authorities are expected to brief the public as investigations continue and security is reinforced in the affected area.
