Army Major General, Others Abducted by Terrorists in Katsina

KATSINA – Retired Major General Mahrazu Tsiga, former Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), has been abducted by terrorists in Katsina State. The incident occurred Wednesday night in Tsiga, the general’s hometown, located in the Kankara Local Government Area.
Reports indicate that armed terrorists stormed the town, targeting General Tsiga’s residence and abducting him along with two other individuals.
Bakatsine, a conflict and crisis journalist covering the Northwest zone, confirmed the abduction. “Yesterday night, bandits attacked Tsiga town and they succeeded in abducting three people, including former Director-General of NYSC, Brig. Gen. Maharazu Tsiga,” Bakatsine stated. Authorities have yet to release an official statement on the situation.
