The Progressive Governors Forum (PGF) has relieved Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma, of his position as Chairman of the forum.
The decision was reached during an extraordinary meeting of the All Progressives Congress (APC) governors held in Abuja on Thursday night.
The move comes as a surprise, occurring just hours after Uzodimma acted as the lead representative for the forum at the formal submission of President Bola Tinubu’s presidential nomination and expression of interest forms at the APC National Secretariat.
According to reports by *Arise News*, the meeting was attended by approximately 17 governors, with representation from various states across the federation. While the specific reasons for the leadership change remain undisclosed, sources indicate that the decision was finalized during the late-night session.
Uzodimma, who has served as a key ally to the Presidency and a vocal leader within the party, had earlier on Thursday led a delegation to submit the President’s forms, signaling a position of influence that now appears to have shifted.
The PGF is expected to issue an official statement regarding the new leadership hierarchy in the coming hours.
