Nigeria’s northeastern Adamawa State, supporters of lawmaker Aliyu Wakili Boya say his three-year tenure in the Nigerian House of Representatives has delivered tangible progress for communities across the Fofure/Song Federal Constituency.

Boya, who serves as Chairman of the House Committee on the Police Institute, has drawn attention for a series of initiatives aimed at improving livelihoods, infrastructure and security within the constituency.

Local leaders say one of the most notable aspects of his tenure has been the creation of employment opportunities for young people. Through various empowerment programmes, dozens of youths have been supported with jobs and training opportunities, offering many their first stable source of income.

Infrastructure development has also featured prominently in his record. Boya played a key role in facilitating the construction of the Malabu road, a project widely seen as a lifeline for residents and traders who previously struggled with poor access routes. The improved road network is expected to boost economic activity and ease transportation challenges in surrounding communities.

Security and capacity-building initiatives have also been central to his legislative focus. Boya was instrumental in securing the establishment of a Police Training School in Malabu, a facility expected to strengthen law enforcement capacity while creating additional opportunities for training and employment in the region.

Community stakeholders further credit the lawmaker with efforts aimed at reducing dependency by supporting constituents with business capital and resources to start small enterprises. The initiative, they say, is gradually fostering a culture of self-reliance and entrepreneurship among residents.

Observers in the constituency argue that these achievements have positioned Boya as a development-focused representative whose priorities centre on economic empowerment, infrastructure growth and improved security.

With political conversations already gathering pace ahead of the next electoral cycle, many constituents say the projects executed during his first term provide strong grounds for him to seek another mandate.

“For us, leadership is about impact,” a community member in the constituency said. “What we have seen in the past three years shows clear commitment to development.”

For supporters of Aliyu Wakili Boya, the message is simple: continuity, they say, could allow the lawmaker to consolidate the projects already underway and expand development initiatives across the constituency.
