Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, who represents Kogi State’s Central Senatorial District under the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), has officially declared her intention to seek a second term in the Senate.

Announcing her re-election bid after a series of consultations with political stakeholders and constituents, the senator said her decision was driven by what she described as “overwhelming encouragement and sustained support” from her political base and family.

Akpoti-Uduaghan also used the moment to call for unity within the PDP in Kogi State, urging party members to close ranks ahead of the next electoral cycle and strengthen internal cohesion.

Her declaration sets the stage for an early political contest in the state, where party dynamics and grassroots mobilisation are expected to play a decisive role in shaping the 2027 elections.

The senator, a prominent voice in the upper chamber, has continued to position herself as a key figure in Nigeria’s evolving political landscape, particularly within opposition politics.
