Former Senate President David Mark has moved to calm concerns within the African Democratic Congress (ADC), assuring party members that recent internal developments do not threaten the party’s stability.
Mark, who serves as the ADC’s National Chairman, gave the reassurance on Wednesday in Abuja during an address marking his 78th birthday.
Acknowledging that challenges are inevitable in the evolution of any political institution, he stressed that unity, resilience, and a shared commitment are essential to overcoming difficulties.
“I wish to assure our members and Nigerians at large that there is no cause for alarm—challenges are a natural part of any growing institution,” Mark said. “What is important is our collective resolve to overcome them.”
He added that the party remains united and focused on strengthening its structures while upholding democratic values.
Mark reaffirmed the ADC’s commitment to democracy, pledging continued efforts to reinforce institutions so that governance can deliver meaningful development for Nigerians. He emphasised that discipline, integrity, and patriotism would guide the party’s actions as it works to safeguard democratic structures and promote national progress.
Reflecting on his milestone age, Mark said his determination to serve the nation remains unwavering.
“At 78, my resolve remains unshaken. I am inspired more than ever to contribute my quota to national unity, peace and progress,” he added.
He also expressed gratitude to God for his life and guidance, while appreciating the steadfast support of his family, friends, and associates throughout his public service.
