A political analyst, Adeniyi, has warned that the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and its leading aspirants are treading cautiously amid unresolved questions over internal consensus and party stability.
Speaking on the party’s evolving political strategy, Adeniyi said uncertainty within the ADC’s internal structure is shaping the behaviour of its members, particularly those nursing ambitions ahead of forthcoming electoral contests.
According to him, while interest in the party continues to grow, key aspirants are holding back from making decisive moves as negotiations over consensus arrangements and leadership cohesion remain inconclusive.
“The ADC and its aspirants are being careful because the issue of internal consensus has not been fully resolved, and party stability is still a concern,” he said.
The analyst noted that the absence of clear agreements could affect the party’s ability to present a united front, a factor he described as critical in Nigeria’s highly competitive political landscape.
He added that how the ADC manages internal disagreements in the coming months would determine whether it can consolidate its gains or risk internal fractures that could weaken its electoral prospects.
The ADC leadership has yet to publicly address the concerns raised, but party insiders say consultations are ongoing to prevent divisions and ensure cohesion ahead of key political milestones.
