Top leaders of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) were reportedly denied access to former Kaduna State governor Nasir El-Rufai at the headquarters of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), deepening political intrigue around the unfolding situation.
Among those said to have been refused entry were the ADC’s National Secretary, Rauf Aregbesola, the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, and Secretary of the ADC Manifesto and Policy Committee, Salihu Lukman.
The circumstances surrounding El-Rufai’s presence at the ICPC office were not immediately made public, while officials of the anti-corruption agency have yet to issue a formal statement on the reported denial of access.
The development is likely to intensify speculation over the political implications of the incident, particularly amid growing realignments and tensions within Nigeria’s opposition landscape.
