resident of the Nigerian Senate, Godswill Akpabio, has described the death of former Delta State Governor, Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan, as a major loss to Nigeria and the Niger Delta region.
Akpabio said Uduaghan’s death was shocking, expressing sorrow over the loss of a former governor whose political career was closely associated with the affairs of Delta State and the wider Niger Delta.
The Senate President’s remarks reflect the sense of loss following the death of the former governor, who served as Delta State governor from 2007 to 2015.
Uduaghan, a medical doctor before entering politics, was a prominent political figure in the South-South region and played a significant role in the state’s political development.
Akpabio’s tribute adds to the reactions surrounding the death of the former governor, whose passing has been described by the Senate President as a loss extending beyond Delta State to the country as a whole.
