The Coordinator of the Kogi State Youths Roundtable, Comrade Alex Idoko Ali, has declared that the state will deliver massive votes for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the upcoming 2027 general elections.
Speaking on the political landscape, Idoko commended Kogi State Auditor-General Alhaji Yakubu Okala for his tireless efforts, noting that the state’s youth are fully mobilized to secure victory for all party candidates, from President Bola Ahmed Tinubu down to state assembly members. He predicted that the APC would record the highest voter turnout in Kogi’s political history.
Idoko praised Governor Usman Ododo’s leadership style, describing it as unique, calm, and inclusive—noting that the governor even listens to the opposition. Because of this, he said, party stakeholders and youth leaders have strong reasons to rally the grassroots behind the administration.
Highlighting the achievements of the ruling party, Idoko pointed to the establishment of a military barracks in Anyigba, which he said has significantly improved the security of lives and property. He also cited ongoing infrastructural projects in the health and education sectors across the state.
“The visible presence of government in the state has endeared citizens to this administration. One good turn deserves another,” Idoko stated.
He argued that it would be ungrateful for the people of Kogi State to vote against a party that has brought unprecedented development. According to Idoko, Governor Ododo’s heavy investments in security are yielding positive results, while infrastructure influence driven by the Chief of Army Staff provides ample reason for continued support. He also commended Okala’s constant engagement with the state’s youth.
Turning to legislative races, Idoko described the senatorial aspiration of Chief Joseph Ameh Erico—a security expert—as a major advantage not just for the region, but for the country at large. He also declared unwavering support for the broader APC lineup, praising figures such as Hon. Victor Uchola, Hon. Abdullahi Halim, and Paul Gowon as men of impeccable pedigree.
Idoko concluded by reiterating that Governor Ododo has demonstrated a remarkable capacity to listen, having successfully addressed critical local issues such as regular salary payments and the curbing of political violence.
