The governorship race within Nigeria’s ruling party has intensified after Abdulrahman Bashir Haske emerged as the fifth contender to purchase the ₦50 million nomination form ahead of the primaries in Adamawa State.

Party officials confirmed that the development brings the total number of aspirants who have obtained the governorship expression of interest and nomination forms under the All Progressives Congress (APC) to five.

The purchase of nomination forms marks a key step in the build-up to the party’s governorship primaries, where aspirants will compete for the APC ticket to contest the forthcoming state election.

While details of the full list of contenders were not immediately disclosed, party insiders say the growing number of aspirants signals heightened political competition within the party structure in Adamawa ahead of the primaries.

The APC is expected to continue its screening and preparatory processes in the coming days as the race for the party’s governorship ticket gathers momentum.
