Lagos, Kano and Kaduna Have Most Registered Voters — INEC

Abuja — The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has disclosed that Lagos, Kano and Kaduna have the highest numbers of registered voters ahead of the 2027 general election.

INEC Chairman Joash Amupitan said on Tuesday in Abuja that the national voters’ register now stands at 110 million, following three phases of the commission’s registration exercise. “The national register of voters now stands at 110 million, making Nigeria the largest democracy in Africa,” Amupitan said.

Lagos leads the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory with 7,488,633 registered voters, followed by:

• Kano: 6,570,276
• Kaduna: 4,662,640
• Katsina: 3,876,051
• Rivers: 3,736,434
• Oyo: 3,588,111
• Delta: 3,525,988
• Benue: 3,057,225
• Ogun: 3,037,981
• Bauchi: 3,012,547
