A widow in Nigeria’s Plateau State has mourned her husband, who was killed during an attack by armed men while reportedly trying to protect his community.
The man was among those killed in the violence and was later buried alongside other victims in a mass grave, according to reports.
Speaking during his burial, his widow described him as a hero, saying his death came while he was attempting to defend his community from the attackers.
“You died a hero,” she was quoted as saying as family members and residents gathered to pay their final respects.
