Afrobeat singer Davido has been banned from performing in Edo State.

The ban came after his public back-and-forth with Edo governor Monday Okpebholo. It all kicked off around the Osun election that just finished.

Okpebholo, an All Progressives Congress (APC) member, was campaigning for the party’s Osun candidate Bola Oyebamiji. He ripped into Governor Adeleke’s record and claimed the man’s dancing kept him from doing his actual job.

Davido hit back with an Instagram post. He shared Okpebholo’s WAEC result to mock the governor’s grades.

After Adeleke won, Davido told News Central he will never apologize. He said Okpebholo has no business attacking a sitting governor who’s doing a better job.

The singer also dropped an open letter on Instagram. In it he told the governor to get ready for him.
