The Presiding Bishop of the Living Faith Church Worldwide (Winners’ Chapel), David Oyedepo, has declared that the church will play a decisive role in the 2027 general elections, leveraging its vast numerical strength to influence the nation’s political trajectory.
Delivering a sermon titled, ‘Breaking the Curses of Life’ at the church’s headquarters in Canaanland, Ota, Ogun State on Sunday, the cleric urged worshippers to reject political indifference and immediately secure their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs).
Oyedepo emphasized that active participation in the electoral process is not just a civic duty but a fundamental right that believers must exercise to shape the quality of leadership in the country.
“We have a civic responsibility as responsible citizens of our various nations,” the Bishop stated. “We are not passers-by in our nations. We are bona fide citizens of the nation, and we have a right to participate in who governs us.”
Stressing the collective power of the church’s population, Oyedepo added: “We have a right to determine who rules us. And this church, with the millions that we have, has a say in it. So be part of it.”
The cleric’s charge comes as civil society organizations and political stakeholders begin early advocacy for voter registration and civic education ahead of the 2027 polls.
