Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun says the 28-kilometre Ogun section of the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway is on course for completion before the end of 2026, describing the project as a major catalyst for the state’s economic transformation.
Abiodun said the highway has significantly strengthened the prospects of the proposed Ogun Deep Sea Port, a flagship infrastructure project expected to position the state as a major maritime and industrial hub.
According to the governor, the combined impact of the coastal highway and the deep sea port will attract substantial domestic and foreign investment, create thousands of jobs, and stimulate rapid economic development in Ogun Waterside and surrounding communities.
The Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway is one of Nigeria’s largest infrastructure projects, designed to improve connectivity along the country’s southern coastline while opening up new opportunities for trade, logistics and industrial growth.
