Former Nigerian Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, has rejected the outcome of the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship primary, alleging widespread irregularities and threatening to challenge the process through a formal petition.
Adelabu accused party officials of compromising the credibility of the primary, claiming the exercise was marred by procedural violations and manipulations that undermined internal democracy.
The former minister said the alleged irregularities distorted the will of party members and called for a thorough review of the conduct of the election.
While stopping short of announcing an immediate court action, Adelabu warned that his team was compiling evidence and could submit a petition against the outcome in the coming days.
The development signals fresh tensions within the ruling APC ahead of the next electoral cycle, with internal disputes continuing to test party unity across several states.
Party officials have yet to issue a detailed response to the allegations.
