Operatives of the Kebbi State Hisbah Board have arrested a man found hiding inside a “Ghana-Must-Go” bag at the residence of a married woman in the Badariya area of Birnin Kebbi.

The Director of Sharia at the board, Sirajo Kamba, confirmed the arrest in a statement issued to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Tuesday.

According to Kamba, residents of the area alerted Hisbah officials at approximately 12:15 a.m. on Monday after witnessing a man sneak into the woman’s house. The

“The residents suspected an illicit affair contrary to Islamic teachings and formally notified the authority,” Kamba stated. “Upon receiving the report, the board swiftly deployed officers to investigate.”

Kamba noted that when officers arrived, the woman initially denied that anyone else was in the house. However, she eventually permitted a search, which led to the discovery of the suspect concealed inside a large woven bag.

Further investigation allegedly revealed a romantic relationship between the pair. Kamba added that during interrogation, both individuals admitted to the allegation. They are expected to be arraigned in a Sharia court to face legal proceedings.
