The national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Nentawe Yilwatda, has said that President Bola Tinubu’s administration is pursuing a coordinated strategy to transform Kano into the economic centre of northern Nigeria and a key gateway for commerce across West Africa.
In a statement released in Abuja over the weekend and signed by his Special Adviser on Media and Communications, Abimbola Tooki, Yilwatda explained that a range of ongoing infrastructure and industrial developments in Kano and along the northern economic corridor form part of a deliberate plan to stimulate long-term growth and investment.
He added that the projects are designed to strengthen regional trade links and reposition the north as a major driver of Nigeria’s wider economic ambitions.
The APC, All Progressives Congress, said the initiatives reflect a broader vision to enhance productivity, expand industrial capacity, and unlock Kano’s potential as a commercial hub within the region.
