The National Caretaker Working Committee (NCWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has approved former Abia State governor Dr. Okezie Victor Ikpeazu to chair the party’s National Convention Organizing Committee, Daily Trust has learned.

Ikpeazu, who was recently appointed Nigeria’s Ambassador to Spain by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, heads a committee made up of factional leaders and stakeholders drawn from across the country. The panel is charged with planning, coordinating and ensuring the successful conduct of the party’s National Convention in line with the PDP constitution and party guidelines.

A list of committee members seen by Daily Trust and signed by Senator Samuel Anyanwu, the faction’s National Secretary, confirmed the appointments. Senator Mustapha Khabeeb was named Secretary of the convention committee.

Earlier, the faction’s National Publicity Secretary, Jungudo Haruna Mohammed, told a press conference that the sale of forms for the convention will begin immediately after the National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting.
