The African Democratic Congress (ADC) on Thursday flagged off its nationwide Membership Revalidation, Mobilisation and Registration (MRMR) exercise and inaugurated State MRMR Committees as part of efforts to strengthen its internal structures and expand its grassroots base.

The event, held at Barcelona Hotel in Wuse II, Abuja, drew members of the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC), party leaders, stakeholders and supporters from across the country.

In its address, the party leadership described the MRMR exercise as a strategic move aimed at repositioning the ADC for greater national impact. According to the leadership, the exercise is designed to deepen grassroots engagement, improve internal coordination and create a credible and updated membership database.

Members were urged to actively participate in the revalidation and registration process to maintain their active status within the party.

The leadership also announced that newly issued membership cards under the MRMR exercise would supersede all previously issued ADC membership cards. As a result, all members are required to complete the revalidation process to retain full membership privileges.

The inauguration of the State MRMR Committees, the party said, is intended to ensure transparency, accountability and effective implementation of the exercise at the state level. The committees have been mandated to coordinate and oversee the process nationwide.

The ADC reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening democratic values, broadening its membership base and building what it described as a people-centered political movement across Nigeria.
