The Kano State Government has expressed confidence that the lingering emirate dispute in the state will soon be resolved, assuring residents that efforts are underway to secure a peaceful and amicable outcome.
The Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, Ibrahim Waiya, gave the assurance while speaking with journalists in Kano on Thursday, stating that the administration has begun taking concrete measures aimed at restoring calm and stability.
Mr Waiya said the government is actively engaging relevant stakeholders through dialogue, stressing that the priority is to prevent further tension and ensure that governance and public order are not disrupted.
He reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to upholding the rule of law and respecting traditional institutions, noting that any resolution would reflect the collective interests and heritage of the Kano people.
According to him, the state government remains focused on fostering unity and reconciliation, expressing optimism that ongoing consultations will yield a lasting solution in the near future.
The emirate tussle has attracted widespread public attention in recent months, with community leaders and observers calling for restraint and constructive engagement among all parties involved.
