Police operatives in Oyo State have intercepted a truck laden with explosives, recovering 40 bags of concealed explosive materials and arresting the driver during an intelligence-led operation in the Sango area of Saki.

Sources within the security services confirmed that the operation was carried out following credible intelligence, which prompted officers to track and stop the vehicle while it was in transit. A search of the truck led to the discovery of the explosives, which had been carefully hidden to evade detection.

The suspect, whose identity has not yet been disclosed, was immediately taken into custody for questioning. Preliminary investigations are underway to determine the origin of the explosives, their intended destination, and whether other individuals or groups are involved.

The police described the seizure as a significant breakthrough, noting that the operation likely prevented a serious security threat.
