Prominent activist Aisha Yesufu has announced her intention to join the African Democratic Congress (ADC), signalling her support for former Vice President Peter Obi, according to reports from @politicsngr.

Yesufu, known for her vocal advocacy on social and political issues, made the declaration in a statement on Tuesday, 31 December 2025, emphasising her commitment to strengthening the political platform associated with Obi.

“This decision is motivated by my belief in the need for credible leadership and political reform in Nigeria,” Yesufu said, according to the report. “Joining ADC is a way to stand in solidarity with those advocating for meaningful change.”

Political analysts note that her move could energise Obi’s supporters ahead of upcoming electoral activities, potentially reshaping alliances within Nigeria’s opposition landscape.

The ADC, a growing political party with a focus on social justice and governance reforms, has welcomed Yesufu’s planned affiliation, calling it a boost for the party’s profile and mission.

As of now, neither Peter Obi nor other senior ADC officials have issued further public comments on Yesufu’s planned move.
