Olisa Ezeasor, assistant coach of Nigeria National League club Solution FC, has sold the match-worn boots Victor Osimhen gifted him after the Super Eagles striker’s hat-trick against Benin Republic.
Ezeasor, who initially listed the size 44/45 boots for N1 million on Saturday, confirmed on Sunday that football administrator Fola Olatunji-David bought them for an undisclosed amount.
The Anambra-based coach said the money was needed to support his personal business.
“Officially putting this boot up for sale. Price: One million naira only. Money needed to support my personal business,” Ezeasor had posted.
Barely 24 hours later he announced:
“Update: Boot sold. Purchased by Fola Olatunji-David. Price: undisclosed.”
In the same breath, he launched a giveaway of N250,000 from the proceeds, promising N10,000 each to 25 lucky followers who turn on his post notifications and comment with proof.
Osimhen personally handed the boots to Ezeasor in September after the coach publicly praised the Galatasaray loanee for almost single-handedly keeping Nigeria’s 2026 World Cup hopes alive with three goals in Cotonou.
Meanwhile, Ezeasor’s Solution FC suffered a 2-0 away defeat to Abakaliki FC on Saturday, leaving the coach fuming over what he described as biased officiating in the NNL.
The sale of the historic boots has sparked mixed reactions online, with some fans hailing the coach’s transparency and generosity, while others joked that the boots “deserved a museum, not a marketplace”.
