Fresh controversy has erupted in the household of Senator Ned Nwoko, as his fifth wife, Laila Charani, publicly countered the latest accusations made by actress Regina Daniels. What began as a quiet marital separation has snowballed into a heated exchange driven by claims of drug abuse, manipulation and family interference.
The dispute, which has dominated conversations online, took a sharper turn on Thursday when Laila openly accused Regina of twisting facts to paint her in a negative light.
Laila said Regina had been “circulating stories that she cannot defend,” insisting that many of the allegations were meant to distract the public from her own habits.
According to Laila, “You never gave me money but introduced me to drugs. The only reason you are fighting my husband is because he wants you to stop your drug and alcohol addiction.”
Her comments came just hours after Regina alleged that Laila had contributed to past tensions within the family, including claims that touched on domestic disagreements and issues surrounding the wellbeing of younger relatives. Regina also complained that her estranged husband had allegedly detained her brother, Samuel “Sammy West” Ojeogwu, a claim that has stirred further backlash on social media.
The ongoing dispute has placed the Nwoko family under intense public scrutiny, with supporters of both women trading accusations online.
While Regina has not issued any new response to Laila’s latest claims, close associates of the actress suggest she may release a statement soon.
Meanwhile, allies of Senator Nwoko maintain that he has been making efforts to keep the matter within the family, though Thursday’s outburst shows that the conflict is far from resolved.
