The Chairman of the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), Hon. Christopher Maikalangu, has called on members of the Grassroots Mobilisation for APC Nationwide to intensify efforts toward delivering the All Progressives Congress (APC) in upcoming elections across the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
Maikalangu made the charge during the inauguration and award ceremony of the group held in Abuja, which brought together key party stakeholders, traditional rulers, and supporters from various communities in the FCT.
Addressing the newly inaugurated executives, the AMAC boss urged them to move beyond titles and focus on results-driven mobilisation that would translate into electoral success for the party.
“You are not just chosen because you are beautiful; you were selected because of your potentials and capacity to deliver,” he stated.
He expressed optimism about the APC’s chances in the FCT, saying past challenges in securing victories could be overcome through grassroots unity and consistent engagement with residents.
“In the FCT, it has always been difficult to win elections, but this time around, we will get it right. I am doing my best in the rural areas to provide support, and I charge you to do the same wherever you are,” Maikalangu said.
The AMAC Chairman urged each member to mobilise at least 1,000 new voters, emphasising that their effectiveness would be measured by tangible results.
“If you don’t have votes at all, give us 1,000. Each member here should be able to bring in 1,000 membership cards. Let’s not just hold positions; let’s prove our capacity by bringing people and ensuring they have voting cards,” he added.
Representing the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Hon. Sam Tor Mchivga praised the mobilisers for their dedication, describing them as the “foundation” upon which the party’s success is built.
“You are a bloc in this particular movement. There is no structure without foundation. You, as the grassroots mobilisers for this particular project, are very important,” Mchivga remarked.
He further encouraged them to see their service as a privilege and to remain steadfast in ensuring the APC’s objectives are achieved.
“Consider yourself privileged. As you go back to your various communities and destinations, work tirelessly for the actualisation of this project that you will leave behind for others. You will not regret it, by the grace of God,” he said.
Also speaking at the event, Hon. Bala Mustapha Danwaki, who represented the APC National Chairman, commended the mobilisers’ efforts and called for continued unity and loyalty to the party’s ideals.
“Together, we all continue to support our great party, the APC, and ensure the continual progress and prosperity of our dear nation. Long live the APC, our noble leader, Her Excellency,” Danwaki stated.
The National Coordinator and Founder of the Grassroots Mobilisation for APC Nationwide, Alhaji Mohammed Lawal Rabana, highlighted the organisation’s long-standing role in strengthening the APC since its formation in 2013.
He explained that the group had been instrumental in the party’s successes during the 2015, 2019, and 2023 general elections, and continues to focus on youth engagement, women’s inclusion, and grassroots empowerment.
“With Grassroots Mobilisation for APC Nationwide, landslide victory is sure,” Rabana declared confidently.
