Prof. Yilwatda Nentawe has been named the new National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), pledging to expand and unite the party nationwide. He made this commitment during his acceptance speech at the 14th APC National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting, held on Thursday at the State House Conference Centre in Abuja.
“I pledge without hesitation that I will work with everybody in the party…I will expand the party with you,” Nentawe stated.

The motion for zoning the party chairmanship to the North Central was announced by Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma, who chairs the Progressive Governors’ Forum. Governor Uzodimma subsequently nominated Nentawe for the position, a motion that was seconded by the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas.

Nentawe, who is from Plateau State in the North Central Zone, was the APC’s gubernatorial candidate in the 2023 elections.
