Lawrence Daniels, brother to Nollywood actress Regina Daniels, has firmly denied allegations linking his sister to drug abuse amidst ongoing public scrutiny of her marriage.
Taking to his Instagram page @sweezzy1, Lawrence addressed the mounting speculation in a post that has since generated widespread reactions across social media platforms.
“No marriage without problems. But remember I decided not to speak. There’s no perfect couple. PS: REGINA DANIELS IS NOT AFFILIATED IN ANY DRUG ABUSE OR MISUSE,” he wrote.
The statement comes as the actress’s marriage to billionaire politician Ned Nwoko continues to dominate conversations on social media, with various claims and counter-claims emerging about the state of their relationship.
Lawrence’s intervention appears aimed at protecting his sister’s reputation whilst the family navigates what he describes as typical marital challenges.
The post has drawn mixed reactions from Nigerians online. Instagram user @loveleen.ofodeme commented: “From this write-up, they’re already making plans for her to go back. All the best to you guys, Gina please be fine.”
Another user, @the_prettyonomhen, wrote: “She will return back to her husband’s house. Y’all should stop stressing.”
However, @segunraph offered a different perspective, stating: “You can clearly see that her husband is right, SAY NO TO DRUGS.”
Some commenters praised the family’s show of solidarity. @effedeborah said: “Supportive family is everything. I love how he’s standing up for her.”
Regina Daniels, who married the considerably older Nwoko in 2019, has remained silent on the allegations. The actress, who has two children with her husband, has not issued any public statement addressing the ongoing speculation.
Her brother’s decision to speak out marks a departure from the family’s previously maintained silence on matters relating to the marriage.
