Veteran music producer, Puffy Tee, has opened up about the lasting impact of the hit song “Yahoozee” by Olu Maintain, revealing that it still gives him chills every time he hears it.
The song, which dominated airwaves back in 2007, continues to hold a special place in his heart. In a heartfelt interview with Sunday Scoop, Puffy Tee expressed how the track’s unique combination of rhythm and melody never fails to take him back to that powerful studio session.
“There are a few songs that still give me goosebumps, but one that comes to mind is ‘Yahoozee’. There’s something about the way the beat comes together with the vocals, and the way it resonates with people. Whenever I hear it in public, I’m transported back to the studio, working with the artiste, and feeling the energy of the session. It’s a reminder of why I do what I do; to create music that touches people’s lives,” he shared.

Reflecting on his childhood and how it shaped his musical career, Puffy Tee revealed that his love for music started early. “Growing up, I was always fascinated by the way music could evoke emotions and bring people together. One memory that stands out is spending hours in my room, experimenting with the two-octave keyboard my dad gifted me, and creating beats with whatever instruments I could find. This curiosity and love for experimentation have stayed with me to this day, and I think it’s what drives my creative process as a producer,” he explained.
Despite being behind the scenes, Puffy Tee feels proud of his role in helping artists bring their visions to life. “As a producer, I know I’m not always in the spotlight, but that’s okay.
My job is to help bring the artiste’s vision to life, and if that means staying behind the scenes, I’m happy to do so,” he said. “That being said, it’s always amazing when fans recognize my work and appreciate the effort that goes into creating a hit song.”
