Raji Samad Adetola, widely known as Mr Sanku Comedy, a beloved Nigerian skit maker and content creator, has tragically passed away following a fatal car accident on the Oyo-Ogbomoso road in Ibadan in the early hours of Monday, September 1, 2025.
The devastating crash caused the vehicle to veer off the road and crash into a ditch, with several passengers sustaining injuries. Despite being rushed to the hospital alongside a friend, both were pronounced dead a few hours later.
Mr Sanku Comedy, who began his content creation journey in 2021, quickly rose to prominence thanks to his unique storytelling and comedic style, amassing over one million followers on TikTok. His sudden passing has sparked widespread grief across social media, with fellow entertainers, fans, and influencers mourning the loss of the talented comedian.
Actress Funmi Awelewa shared on Instagram that a student near Bowen Hospital had reported on Sanku’s condition, noting he was initially responding to treatment, but the comedian’s death was inevitable despite prayers and support.
“This loss is heartbreaking. Someone who left home in good health is suddenly gone,” remarked social media influencer Jidex, expressing the shock and sorrow felt by many.
Mr Sanku Comedy’s death highlights the fragility of life and has triggered calls for road safety awareness to prevent similar tragedies. The Nigerian entertainment community and his fans worldwide remember him fondly for his originality and infectious humour, which brought joy to countless lives.
