Renowned Nigerian rapper Jude Abaga, popularly known as M.I, has revealed that his wife, Eniola Mafe, has been a pillar of support in both his music and entrepreneurial ventures, describing her as “the most supportive person”.
Speaking on the Outside The Box podcast, the hip-hop star disclosed that when he launched efforts to raise capital for his company, TASCK, his wife was the first person to write him a cheque.
According to M.I, “My wife is the most supportive person. When I started trying to raise money for my company, she was the first person that gave me a cheque. She also supports my music-making process; she filmed many of my clips online. She is always supportive.”
The rapper added that Eniola, despite her own busy career, constantly makes time to join him in the studio, at shows, and even in business meetings. “It is such a gift to have her. She comes for the shows, she travels with me, she is with me in the studio, she is with me on designs. Sometimes she comes to listen to me at meetings. And she has her own work o! But every free time she gets, she comes to me,” he explained.
Analysts say M.I’s public acknowledgment of his wife’s role reflects a broader conversation about the importance of spousal support in Nigeria’s entertainment industry, where the demands of fame often strain personal relationships.
