Popular Nollywood actress Lizzy Anjorin is facing public backlash following a viral outburst where she launched verbal attacks against fellow actress Iyabo Ojo and her daughter, Priscilla, who recently announced her pregnancy.
The controversy erupted after Lizzy failed to congratulate Priscilla Ojo on her pregnancy, prompting accusations of envy and lingering bitterness between the two actresses.
Priscilla had revealed via Instagram that she is expecting a child with Tanzanian music star Juma Jux, sharing maternity photos that were widely circulated and celebrated by fans and colleagues. However, Lizzy Anjorin’s silence sparked fresh tension.
In response to the criticism, Lizzy posted a fiery video on social media, hurling harsh words at Iyabo Ojo and her family. She accused fans and colleagues of hypocrisy for expecting her to feign support for someone with whom she has unresolved issues.
“If she gives birth to 20 children, they will all perish. Iyabo is a disgraceful human being,” Lizzy declared in the video, sparking outrage online.
Reacting swiftly, Iyabo Ojo condemned the remarks and warned against involving her children in personal disputes.
“I want peace, but I won’t tolerate anyone dragging my children into this,” Iyabo said. “If anything happens to me or my children, hold Lizzy responsible.”
The long-standing rivalry between the two actresses has played out publicly over the years, with past accusations of defamation, threats, and legal threats exchanged between them. This latest incident has once again highlighted the toxic underbelly of celebrity feuds in Nigeria’s entertainment industry.
Many fans and colleagues have condemned Lizzy’s statements as “crossing the line,” particularly for targeting an unborn child. Critics also argue that the entertainment industry must do more to discourage personal attacks and bullying, especially on social media platforms.
