Plateau State Governor, Barr. Caleb Mutfwang, has joined numerous admirers and well-wishers around the globe in congratulating a distinguished elder statesman, Lt. Gen. Theophilus Yakubu Danjuma (GCON), on his well-deserved recognition with the Hallmarks of Labour Foundation (HLF) Lifetime Achievement Award for Exemplary Philanthropy and Charity.
In a heartfelt message, Governor Caleb Mutfwang described Lt. Gen. Danjuma as a symbol of excellence and a beacon of hope who has dedicated his entire life to the defense and service of humanity. He praised Gen. Danjuma as a towering icon of leadership and a father figure whose philanthropic gestures continue to transform lives across Nigeria.
The Governor in a state signed by Gyang Bere, Director of Press and Public Affairs to the Executive Governor of Plateau State commended the Hallmarks of Labour Foundation for the strategic decision to honor Gen. Danjuma, describing it as a fitting recognition for a man whose legacy is carved in compassion, generosity, and nation-building. He noted that Gen. Danjuma, as a philanthropist and community developer, has indelible footprints through his far-reaching interventions.
Governor Mutfwang recalled that in his quest to alleviate the suffering of indigent women, children, and the elderly, Gen. Danjuma established the TY Danjuma Foundation to cater to the rural population.
Speaking at the HLF 28th Anniversary and the Great Nigerian Awards held at the Grand Ballroom, Lagos Oriental Hotel, Victoria Island, where he also received an award on behalf of Mr. Okafor Chima Christian, who emerged as the second-best overall student in the WASSCE—alongside former Military Governor of Plateau State, Rear Admiral Bitrus Atukum, Governor Mutfwang expressed profound appreciation to Gen. Danjuma for his enormous investment in education and healthcare, which has significantly improved the standard of living of Nigerians.
He particularly lauded Okafor Christian, a student of St. Paul Anglican Church, Jos, for making the state proud and encouraged other students to emulate his academic excellence to further project the image of Plateau State positively.
In his remarks on behalf of the awardees, Gen. T. Y. Danjuma thanked Governor Mutfwang for honoring the occasion with his presence and extended his condolences on the recent violent attacks in Plateau State.
He also expressed appreciation to the Hallmarks of Labour Foundation for the recognition, noting that such gestures would further inspire them to continue serving humanity.
Gen. Danjuma prayed for the continued success of the Foundation in its mission to impact lives and celebrate individuals rendering essential services to the nation.
