Daniel Bwala, the Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Policy Communication, has forecasted a landslide victory for the President in the 2027 general elections, predicting a win margin significantly larger than that of 2023.
Appearing on Channels Television’s *Politics Today* on Wednesday, Bwala expressed total confidence in the President’s re-election prospects, suggesting the gap between Tinubu and his rivals would be unprecedented.
“Let me say it categorically: the victory margin President Bola Tinubu will record against every other candidate will be so wide that it will be hard to believe,” Bwala stated.
In the 2023 presidential election, Tinubu secured 8,794,726 votes, defeating his closest rival, Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), by 1.81 million votes, and the Labour Party’s Peter Obi by 2.69 million votes. Bwala, however, insists that the 2027 results will dwarf these figures.
The presidential aide attributed his optimism to the evolving political landscape, specifically citing the influx of opposition governors into the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Since the conclusion of the 2023 polls, several high-ranking opposition figures and governors have defected to the APC, a trend Bwala believes has fundamentally strengthened the President’s political machinery.
He further predicted that the President would enjoy the backing of a significantly higher number of state governors in 2027 compared to those who supported his initial bid for the presidency.
