The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ondo State has praised Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers for his unwavering leadership and resilience, qualities they believe are an inspiration to the party and the nation.

In a statement issued on Wednesday in Akure, Chief Bakkita Bello, the Caretaker Chairman of the PDP in Ondo State, welcomed Governor Fubara back to his office after what he described as a “political distraction intended to derail the will of the people.”

Bello highlighted that the mandate given to Fubara by the people of Rivers State was undeniable and could not be overturned. “Your return is not only a victory for democracy but also a profound reaffirmation that the mandate freely given by the people of Rivers cannot be subverted by any force,” he said.

The PDP chairman commended Fubara’s leadership qualities, describing him as a symbol of resilience and calmness under pressure. “You have once again demonstrated resilience, calm leadership, and faith in constitutional governance—qualities that continue to inspire our great party across Nigeria,” Bello added. These traits, he emphasized, were essential in fostering unity, prosperity, and progress in Rivers State.

Fubara’s leadership has been a beacon of hope, particularly in the face of significant challenges. Bello continued by acknowledging the governor’s commitment to peace, development, and public service, which he said stood as an example for others in political office. “Your courage in standing firm for justice and truth serves as a beacon of hope to all lovers of democracy and good governance,” he stated.

In concluding his remarks, Bello expressed the party’s solidarity with Governor Fubara.

“PDP in Ondo State stands solidly with you in prayer, solidarity, and goodwill,” he said. “We are confident that under your leadership, Rivers will continue to thrive in unity, prosperity, and progress. May this renewed phase of your administration be marked by greater achievements and strengthened bonds of trust between government and the governed.”
