In a heated exchange between prominent political figures, Senator Adolphus Wabara, Chairman of the Board of Trustees (BoT) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has criticized the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, for his recent comments. Wike had remarked that if Wabara were his father, he would disown him, prompting a sharp response from the former Senate President.

Wabara, reflecting on his past role as Nigeria’s Number Three Citizen, expressed his disappointment at Wike’s language, likening it to a “broken water pipe without a tap.” He emphasized that it would be undignified for him to engage in a war of words with Wike, highlighting the importance of maintaining respect and decorum in public discourse.

As an elder statesman, Wabara expected the FCT Minister to exercise restraint in his utterances, respecting both his ministerial position and his previous role as Governor. “It is disgraceful for a supposed man of honour to speak without decorum,” Wabara stated, criticizing Wike’s approach as immature.

Wabara further challenged Wike to clarify any grievances he might have, questioning, “Can Wike please tell the world what it is I did wrong to him?” He also touched on the topic of corruption, a contentious issue in Nigerian politics, asserting his integrity and challenging any insinuations against him.

In his concluding remarks, Wabara reaffirmed his stance on maintaining respect for elders and refrained from further engaging in the controversy, emphasizing the need for mature and factual discourse among Nigeria’s leaders.
