Former Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, has dismissed claims by Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, that the two held joint meetings with President Bola Tinubu and that Wike purportedly offered his support to the PDP for Makinde.

In a strong rebuttal, Wike described the assertion as “a blatant lie,” adding that he had never been addressed as “Wike” by Makinde until the recent statement.

“It’s unfortunate. He doesn’t even have the guts to tell us he is running for president,” Wike said, challenging the veracity of Makinde’s claims.

The governor’s remarks underscore rising tensions within the political landscape, as speculations around presidential ambitions continue to dominate discussions among Nigeria’s political elite.

No response has yet been issued by Governor Makinde regarding Wike’s rebuttal.
