A former Commissioner of Police in Kano State, Muhammad Wakili, has questioned the fate of hard drugs worth nearly three billion naira seized shortly before his retirement.

Speaking publicly, Wakili said the confiscation took place just three days before he left office, but noted that he has yet to receive any official update on what became of the seized substances.

“Three days before I retired in Kano, I seized hard drugs worth nearly three billion naira. But up till now, I have not received any information on what was done with the drugs,” he said.

He added that unverified claims have since emerged suggesting the drugs may have been released and returned to their alleged owners, raising concerns about accountability within the system.

There has been no immediate response from relevant authorities regarding the allegations.

Wakili’s remarks are likely to intensify scrutiny over the handling of seized narcotics and transparency within law enforcement processes in Kano State.
