VP Shettima departs for Dubai to attend the commissioning of a $315 million oil production and storage facility.

Vice President Kashim Shettima has departed Abuja to represent President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the commissioning of a $315 million oil production and storage facility in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The facility, acquired by Nigerian-owned Oriental Energy Limited, highlights the increasing global presence of Nigeria’s oil and gas industry.

In a statement issued by Stanley Nkwocha, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Communications, Office of the Vice President, it was mentioned that Vice President Shettima’s presence at the event reaffirms the administration’s support for Nigerian businesses achieving international recognition.

Following the Dubai engagement, Vice President Shettima will embark on the Lesser Hajj (Umrah) in Saudi Arabia from December 16 to 19, 2024. During his visit, he will also hold a bilateral meeting with the President of the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) to discuss co-financing arrangements for the Special Agro-Industrial Processing Zones (SAPZ Phase II) and enhance coordination of IsDB projects in Nigeria.

The Vice President is scheduled to return to Nigeria on or before December 21, 2024. In other news, he recently attended the wedding Fatiha of Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu’s son at Sultan Bello Mosque in Kaduna, where he was accompanied by several dignitaries.

The wedding ceremony was also attended by Governors, Ministers, and other prominent figures, including Aliko Dangote.
