Minister of Works, David Umahi, has vehemently refuted allegations of sexual harassment and a N200 million debt leveled against him by businesswoman Tracynither Ohiri. Umahi dismissed the claims as baseless and politically motivated during an inspection of the Independence Bridge in Lagos.Ohiri alleges that Umahi owes her N200 million for promotional materials she supplied for his 2014 governorship campaign and that he withheld payment after she rejected his sexual advances.Umahi countered, “The entire election in 2014 for me to be a governor did not cost me up to N100 million; so, how would campaign material be N200 million?” He challenged Ohiri to provide evidence, asking for contract papers and bank statements.Regarding the sexual harassment claims, Umahi suggested Ohiri was “sponsored” and pointed to her alleged involvement in similar accusations against other governors. “I think that woman is sponsored. I saw what she did to three other governors,” he stated.Umahi also announced his intention to pursue legal action against those he believes are behind the allegations. “That is why I am going to legally teach whoever is the sponsor some lessons,” he said.Ohiri, however, maintains the validity of her claims. In exclusive interviews and public protests, she alleges that Umahi promised payment after winning the election but subsequently made unwanted advances.

She claims that when she refused, he blocked her and stopped taking her calls.Ohiri has also taken to social media, releasing multiple videos detailing her financial struggles due to the alleged unpaid debt. She has called on President Bola Tinubu to intervene. The dispute has escalated, with Umahi denying all accusations and threatening legal action, while Ohiri continues to demand payment and accountability.
