The National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), led by Tanimu Turaki (SAN) and backed by the party’s governors, has inaugurated a fresh reconciliation process aimed at unifying the party’s warring factions.
Speaking with journalists in Abuja on Wednesday, Turaki confirmed that the initiative is already yielding early results. He noted that constructive engagement between the opposing sides began late Tuesday and continued into Wednesday morning.
“I can confirm that leaders of both sides, as of today, are working towards solutions. So reconciliation is ongoing, and all hope is not lost,” Turaki stated.
He further explained that efforts to obstruct the process had been effectively neutralized. “From last night, those who are benefiting from this crisis and who do not want reconciliation to work have been shut out. So from that time till this morning, both sides are making some progress.”
Turaki urged party supporters to exercise restraint and refrain from actions that could jeopardize the ongoing peace efforts.
