The Minister of Defence, General Christopher Musa (rtd), has declared his full commitment to ensuring the success of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration, including mobilising support for a second term in office.
Speaking on the role of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in his political journey, General Musa said the ruling party had provided him with the platform to present himself and contribute meaningfully to national development.
According to him, President Tinubu’s success is central to Nigeria’s stability and progress, stressing that he would spare no effort in supporting the President’s leadership and reform agenda.
“The APC has given me the platform to present myself. Whatever I can do to make sure he succeeds — including moving forward to a second term — I will give him my very best,” the Defence Minister said.
General Musa’s remarks come amid growing conversations within the ruling party over continuity, governance reforms and the consolidation of ongoing economic and security initiatives under President Tinubu.
Since assuming office, the President has prioritised economic restructuring, security sector reforms and institutional strengthening, with the Ministry of Defence playing a key role in counter-terrorism and national security coordination.
Political observers view General Musa’s comments as a strong signal of unity within the APC and an early endorsement of President Tinubu’s re-election bid by a senior figure in the administration.
The statement also underscores the administration’s resolve to sustain its policy direction while rallying party members and stakeholders around a shared vision for Nigeria’s future.
